experiment

I’m THINKING of starting an experimental project next month or so, where I oblige myself to blog at least once a day. Maybe? Yes? I’ve gotten terrible at blogging, which is not an awful situation given I think my readership is composed of 5 people (maybe less?) and after going through melodramatic high school blog entries I forgot how enjoyable it could be, sometimes. I also think my 5 (or less) readers are mostly far away from me and probably don’t know what my daily life is like anymore, so perhaps it would be fun to share. Yes? No? Probably not until these damned papers are over though.

I’ve been writing a paper on ethnic conflict in Burma this whole weekend. I’m really glad I’m interested in Burma to begin with or else my brain would swell up with an overload of hate for this class. It isn’t due for another couple of weeks but my weekends from this point on are going to be filled. Next week it is ATLANTIC CITY with Johnface and Lorraine and then my crazy cousins are coming to visit and eat steak. I cannot wait for vacations, even though I barely have anything to take a vacation from given my immense slacking off this semester.

Today I bought my ticket ($259!) for LA, set for the weekend after Memorial Day. It is going to be an epic 4 days of Fleetwood (which means STEVIE NICKS), barbecue, Knotts Berry Farm, San Diego surfing, KOREAN TACOS and guitaring. Oh right and Mark. (hahaha) Did I mention the Korean tacos?

In my paper writing mode I’m going through my entire music collection alphabetically (3400 songs or so, it’ll be a while). On a whim last year I got Aerosmith’s GOLD collection which I had never fully listened to until today. I listened to about 40  of their songs in a row. All I can say is, AEROSMITH IS AMAZING. One day I will have to take a road trip, and I am going to listen to their whole damn collection the whole way.

andrea gibson

because poetry is love! and because this performance by andrea gibson and saltlines made mark’s mother, who months earlier had voted for proposition 8 and vehemently defended the decision to do so, a little more accepting of gay folks. amazing? here is a samplet:
